The speed and volume of weapon supplies to Ukraine from Western partners remain insufficient.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as reported by TSN correspondent Olena Chernyakova.

The head of state thanked international partners and personally NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for the continuation of the defense program PURL.

"Currently, in May, there are contributions, there have been contributions, and there will be contributions in June. And this is very important, and there is confirmation. But the speed of supply through PURL is insufficient. And this is also a fact. Additional steps are needed," Zelensky believes.

During the meeting, Zelensky and Rutte outlined five key areas for further work. The first and foremost priority is the unconditional continuation of the PURL program and attracting new investing countries to it. In particular, 6 countries have officially confirmed that they will make new financial contributions to PURL. The names of these states and the specific amounts of funds are not disclosed, as this is non-public information.

"We need to buy what can be purchased in the USA. Today, all countries confirmed that PURL is a priority. Just like our new format DronDeals, we are moving with partners to make this format fully operational," Zelensky summarized.

What is PURL? The Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List is an initiative launched by the USA and NATO aimed at providing Ukraine with critically important weapons. NATO members finance the purchase of weapons and equipment manufactured in the USA.

Recall that at the same press conference, Zelensky stated that Ukraine could receive Patriot systems before 2030.
